CALLING ALL MURALISTS (16 years and older)

The ViBe Creative District and Bryant & Stratton College are partnering on a call for mural artists ages 17 & older with a focus on Hampton Roads High School Juniors or Seniors graduating in 2025 or 2026 or returning adult students. One muralist will be selected to paint an 8-foot by 28-foot mural on site at the Bryant & Stratton College Virginia Beach Campus located at 301 Centre Pointe Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 in September 2024, honoring the institution’s 170th Anniversary. The winning artist will receive a 50% scholarship for a degree at Bryant & Stratton College (valued at $20,000) for themselves OR a student of their choice. Alternatively, the winner can select a $2,000 cash award in lieu of the 50% Bryant & Stratton College scholarship valued at $20,000. Bryant & Stratton College will cover the cost of supplies & paint for this mural.

The mural should reflect on the 170th Anniversary of Bryant & Stratton College and their mission to offer “personalized career education and experience leading to high-demand professions, so graduates are prepared for their career and life pursuits.” Interested artists are encouraged to visit the Bryant & Stratton College website (bryantstratton.edu) and social media pages for inspiration (@BSCVirginiaBeach on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram or @BSCbobcatsVA on FB, IG and X).

Artists must submit 1 or 2 mural concepts in a horizontal orientation on the webform below to be considered for this opportunity.

DEADLINES:

• APPLY by Friday, September 6th at 12pm. Artists will be notified of the winner by Monday, Sept 9, 2024.
• Mural painting will take place on site at Bryant & Stratton College during the month of September with a completion deadline of Tuesday, Oct 1, 2024.
