NEW 2024 International Night Market Series in the ViBe Creative District
Local business leaders have collaborated to establish an International Night Market series, dedicated to promoting diversity, economic growth, and community well-being within Virginia Beach’s vibrant arts district. The inaugural event is scheduled for Friday, May 3rd, from 6-10 pm at 723 20th Street, adjacent to Dwell in the ViBe Apartments. This gathering will transform the 20th St cul-de-sac into a dynamic cultural block party, offering a night filled with entertainment, including an energetic DJ, Folk artists, dancers, local artisans showcasing their crafts, the delectable offerings of Jessy’s Taqueria, and a variety of food trucks serving culinary delights.
Inspired by the authentic street events celebrated across Latin America, this Night Market embodies a spirit of cultural richness and celebration. Victor Leite of Dwell in the ViBe, hailing from Brazil, and Ricardo Romero of Jessy’s Taqueria, representing Mexico, conceptualized this venture after active participation in the Friends of the Creative District business association. Their vision stems from a desire to foster an authentic international presence in the ViBe Creative District and Oceanfront resort areas, acknowledging the district’s need for such initiatives.
Their collaborative effort aims to welcome local international businesses, artists, musicians, and the community at large, creating a diverse and inclusive event that complements the popular First Fridays in the district. Noteworthy district events include the VB Flea Night Market near WRV on 19th St and the summer series by Utopia Feni in ViBe Park on 18th Street. Leite and Romero extend an open invitation to all to join and revel in an evening of connection with the international community through art, music, food, and dance. Embrace the vibrant cultures and rhythms that resonate within the heart of the ViBe Creative District.
