With the completion of City of Virginia Beach 18th Street Road Improvement project there are now 15 Neighborhood Identifier sculptures in ViBe Creative District at street corners from 19th St and 18th St. and Cypress Avenue to Arctic Avenue. The new VB Street Art Fest will celebrate the painting of all 15 sculptures by 15 different artists in a 4-day weekend with activities and specials at neighborhood businesses. All artists are encouraged to showcase their best talents in either spray paint or exterior UV-protected paint in a street art inspired mural that will be on exhibit for the public for 1 year. Free public parking is available at the Virginia Beach Convention Center and along the streets in district.
Guests are encouraged to park and walk the 1.5 route from 19th St and Parks Avenue east to Baltic Ave and then from Artcic and 18th St west to Cypress Avenue to see all 15 artworks in progress during the weekend. The public will be invited to try their hand at live mural painting on the walls at The Garage VB located at 1703 Mediterranean Avenue which will act as the weekend VB Street Art Festival Info Center. This new summer event will be the compliment to the ViBe Mural Festival which will move to Fall 2024 for it’s 7th Annual event.
The VB Street Art Festival will be on of 3 large events taking place in the Virginia Beach resort area creating a unique weekend of events in partnership with Jackalope and Point Break Festival. Additional event in ViBe will include Old Beach Farmer’s Market, Old Beach Art & Eco Market, Singer Songwriter Saturdays by Big Juicy Entertainment. More details to come!
