Art of Humanity 2020

The Season for Nonviolence is celebrated annually from January 30 to April 4 as a national 64-day educational, media, and grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that non-violence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities.

To celebrate the closing of the season, the Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission, ViBe Creative District, Virginia MOCA and numerous local community partners are hosting a family fun day called The Art of Humanity featuring:

  • live music
  • a public mural painting
  • Origami Peace Crane making
  • face-painting
  • and fun for all ages.
Previous community partners attending this event include: African American Cultural Center, Children for Change/ Season for Non-violence, Chrysler Museum of Art, Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, Utopi Feni, Virginia Beach Police Department, Teens with a Purpose, and Little Theatre of Virginia Beach.
An updated list of community partners for 2020 is pending…
